In my work, I utilize imagery that is dreamlike and strange. I feel this type of imagery serves to draw people in. It grabs their attention because of the incongruity of the image, and it also makes them want to know more. My intent is to enrapture the viewer with not only the strangeness of the concept but also the beauty of the image. I want the visual impact of my work to satisfy the viewer with the fineness of craft, but unsettle them with the weirdness of the imagery. I use rich concepts to bolster my work, but I make sure the image alone is compelling enough to interest the viewer whether they know of the concept or story behind it or not.
